Six Nations Polytechnic and Grand River Employment and Training Work Together to Offer Funded Post-Secondary Programs

OHSWEKEN, March 23, 2023 – Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) is working with Grand River Employment and Training to announce two new programs. A Pre-Health Science Indigenous program and a Gayogo̲hǫ́nǫˀ Gawęnǫdahgǫh Cayuga language immersion program. These programs will be delivered by SNP with Grand River Employment and Training (GREAT) funding tuition for eligible Six Nations learners.

The Pre-Health Sciences Pathways – Indigenous Program will help prepare students to pursue higher education and careers within the health sciences. This program will be starting in the Fall of 2023 at SNP’s Brantford campus and aims to help address the critical need for healthcare professionals within the Six Nations community and beyond.

Both GREAT and SNP have ongoing commitments to supporting language and cultural revitalization. The goal of the Gayogo̲hǫ́nǫˀ Gawęnǫdahgǫh Immersion Program is to create advanced-level speakers that the Six Nations community needs to reverse the decline of the Cayuga language. This two-year accelerated program will be taking place at SNP’s Ohsweken campus in Fall of 2023.

More information about these and other programs offered at SNP is available at www.snpolytechnic.com
