Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

Online application procedures and deadlines for applications are available on the OSAP website at osap.gov.on.ca. Online applications are available in the month of May.

Post-Secondary Student Support Program

Post-Secondary Student Support Program

If you are an eligible status Indian or Inuit student, plan to pursue post-secondary studies on a part-time or full-time basis and are registered with an eligible post-secondary institution, you may qualify for financial support through the Post-Secondary Education Support Program. Contact your local band office, Inuit designated organization or Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) office to apply or click the link below to find more information.

If you are a registered Six Nations member and you have met the entrance requirements for and been enrolled in or accepted for enrolment in an eligible post-secondary program, then you can apply for post-secondary education assistance through the Grand River Post-Secondary Education Office.

Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal Area Management Board (NPAAMB)

NPAAMB provides training programs and services to individuals, employers, and training institutions in urban and rural areas located in Southern Ontario. The goal of NPAAMB is to provide employment and training initiatives so that Urban Aboriginal youth can become strong and vibrant leaders of tomorrow. NPAAMB has developed several Human Resource Development programs to assist Urban Aboriginal Youth (15-30 years of age) residing off-reserve in Ontario's Niagara Peninsula / Golden Horseshow area.

Grand River Employment and Training (GREAT)

GREAT's mandate is to help secure employment for Onkwehon:we of the Grand River Territory, regardless of residency. The Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS) is designed to help Aboriginal Peoples prepare for, and find high-demand jobs that will help address Canada’s labour market challenges.

Scholarships and Bursaries

Harvey Longboat Sr. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded in memory of Harvey Longboat Sr. During his term with the Six Nations Polytechnic Board of Governors, Harvey created the ‘Philosophy’ by which Six Nations Polytechnic strives to function, in addition to inspiring and guiding the Institute with his educational experience and knowledge of the culture. Six Nations Polytechnic’s Harvey Longboat Sr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a full-time SNP student enrolled in the University Consortium Year 1 Program with the highest overall average achieved during the academic year, earning a minimum of four credits.

This scholarship does not require an application, SNP will select the recipient based on the requirements outlined above.

Marge & Reg Henry Cayuga Language Award

This award is dedicated to the memory of Marge and Reg Henry. They were highly respected for their knowledge of Longhouse traditions and languages. Marge and Reg, both fluent in the Cayuga language, worked diligently to promote the preservation of the language and left the legacy of Henry Orthography, a phonetic writing system used to write the Cayuga language. Six Nations Polytechnic’s Marge and Reg Henry Cayuga Language Award is awarded to a full-time SNP student achieving the single highest grade in a Cayuga language course of the University Consortium Year 1 Program and demonstrating a commitment to maintaining and preserving the Cayuga language.

Vina Loft Mohawk Language Award

This award is dedicated to the memory of Vina Loft. Vina was a fluent Mohawk speaker who worked at promoting the spoken language in many ways. Her first dedication to the retention of the language was to teach all of her own children to speak the language. Six Nations Polytechnic’s Vina Loft Mohawk Language Award is awarded to a full-time SNP student achieving the single highest grade in a Mohawk Language course of the University Consortium Year 1 Program and demonstrating a commitment to maintaining and preserving the Mohawk language.

WP Financial Bursary

WP Financial is well-known to many of the First Nations to whom it provides services and it is pleased to offer something back to the community for those organizations. This bursary is awarded to full-time students of College programs offered at Six Nations Polytechnic who have demonstrated excellence in academics and have made a contribution to the Indigenous community.

IIC Delbert Horton Award - Student

Student Scholarship Award Six Nations Polytechnic, on behalf of the Aboriginal Institutes Consortium, chooses to honour a student in order to provide encouragement and assistance with his or her post-secondary education.

IIC Delbert Horton Award - Instructor

Six Nations Polytechnic, on behalf of the Aboriginal Institutes Consortium, is pleased to acknowledge exemplary service by instructors through a high level of commitment to successful program delivery and student achievement.

The Linda I. Staats Tuition Bursary

The bursary is in honour of Linda’s commitment and dedication to Six Nations Polytechnic and Six Nations education in general. The Linda I. Staats Tuition Bursary is open to Indigenous students aspiring to attain a University degree by completing the first year of study through the University Program at Six Nations Polytechnic. The bursary recipient must be admitted to and registered to attend the University program at Six Nations Polytechnic to exercise a total or partial tuition waiver for the academic year (September to April). To qualify, the successful candidate will not be receiving funding from the Grand River Post Secondary Education Office (GRPSEO). Contact SNP for an application or for more information.
