April 14, 2021 | SNP STEAM Academy will continue with remote learning until further notice

For Immediate Release
SNP STEAM Academy will continue with remote learning until further notice
April 14, 2021

The provincial government announced on Monday, April 12 all publicly funded secondary schools in Ontario will be closed to students for an undetermined period following the April break as part of the province-wide efforts to manage the spread of COVID-19. The government did not provide a timeframe for when schools would reopen but indicated they would be carefully monitoring the status of COVID-19 cases in the coming weeks.

The SNP STEAM Academy will follow the direction of the province and will continue with remote learning until further notice. Premier Ford has said by keeping children home longer after spring break will limit community transmission, take pressure off the hospitals, and allow more time to roll out the vaccine plan. Details of the current closures are:

STEAM Academy: All classes will run remotely starting April 19, 2021. Staff access to the campus is by request for priority matters.

Brantford Campus: Pre-scheduled college and trades programming will continue as scheduled. Staff access to the campus is by request for priority matters.

Ohsweken Campus: Closed to the public with all programs running remotely. Staff access to the campus is by request for priority matters.

In the coming days as more information becomes available, SNP will share additional details. Please continue to monitor our social media channels and website https://www.snpolytechnic.com for additional updates and information.

Nations Polytechnic remains focused on the health and well-being of all students, families, and staff. As a reminder, please ensure public health measures are followed to help prevent and limit the spread of COVID-19 https://www.ontario.ca/public-health-and-workplace-safety-measures.
