Six Nations Polytechnic Changes to COVID-19 Protocols starting February 28, 2022

Starting February 28, Six Nations Polytechnic will be making adjustments to its COVID-19 operating procedures as outlined below. We continue to prioritize the health and safety of our educational community and look forward to further reducing our response protocols in the near future.

Testing

  1. Testing will be reduced to weekly for individuals that are in the rapid testing program.
  2. Our on-site testing centre will be closing and staff and students in our testing program will receive take-home tests. Proof of a negative test will be required for building entry. This can be in the form of a photo of a dated test cassette, or by presenting a negative test cassette at entry if a photo is not available. Testing cassettes will be properly disposed of.

Isolation space

  1. The Brantford campus isolation space will move to room A103.

Facilities re-opening

  1. Cafeteria capacity will be expanded, plexiglass partitions will remain in place.
  2. Student Lounge will re-open for post-secondary and trades students, set-up will support distancing and limited capacity, masks still required.
  3. Small in-person meetings will be permitted in spaces, 2m distancing and masks required.
  4. Gymnasium space will remain open for no-contact activities, masks will be required.

On-site population

  1. SNP staff will begin working on-site for two days per week beginning April 4, 2022. Instructor’s schedules are determined at the program level and may differ.

COVID-19 response items that are not changing

  • Masks and vaccine requirements remain in effect
  • Additional cleaning and sanitization practices will continue
  • Entry screening practices will also remain

As a reminder, SNP has a covid-19 information page on its website https://snpolytechnic.com/COVID-19 and continues to track any self-reported covid-19 cases, isolations, and absences.
