Reported Positive Case of COVID-19 at Six Nations Polytechnic, Brantford Campus

Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) Brantford Campus Closure Oct 13-16, 2020

  • SNP Ohsweken Campus-remains open to staff. Visitors are only permitted on-site by request
  • SNP Brantford Campus-Closed to staff and Students. SNP STEAM Academy students will revert to online learning for the remainder of the week through to October 16th. SNP College and trades students impacted by the closure will receive additional information from Student Services

Today, an individual reported a confirmed positive COVID-19 case at Six Nations Polytechnic’s Brantford Campus. As a result, SNP Brantford Campus will be closed for the remainder of the week to allow for confirmation and direction from Public Health around contact tracing and additional actions, as well as cleaning and sanitization of the campus. This individual last accessed the campus on October 9, 2020.

We will work closely with and follow all guidance from Public Health authorities, prior to re-opening the campus. All SNP Brantford Campus staff and students are asked to monitor their health and get tested if they are experiencing symptoms.

SNP’s cases will be closely monitored and reported on by either the Brant County Health Unit or Six Nations Public Health. “Our thoughts and well wishes are with all the families being impacted by COVID-19. The health and safety of our learning community is our top priority. Our prevention protocols and response plan have been assessed to meet and, in many instances, exceed the Ministry and governmental guidance documents for schools and organizations. We will continue to work alongside, and are grateful for the support from our local public health authorities.” says Director of Operations, Nichole Martin.
