Singing Group

STEAM Academy has a social singing group lead by Chris Martin, Stonehorse Moore, Aisha Restole-General and Elan Henhawk. They rattle, drum, sing and lead dances for our whole school socials. STEAM Academy hosts a minimum of four socials each year.

Robotics

Our inaugural year entering into robotics has had a strong start with our team alliance winning the STEMley cup. Students are welcome to participate in a variety of ways including the drive, design, manufacturing, or coding teams.

This year the STEAM Academy Brainstorm Robotics team were the winners of the 2024 FIRST Ontario District McMaster Event. 

Art/Music

SNP STEAM Academy offers visual art courses from Grade 9 to Grade 12. Students have the opportunity to create art pieces with a variety of medium; pastels, acrylic paint, watercolours, pencils, clay, etc.

Music classes are offered in Grade 9 and 10. Students can chose to learn from a variety of brass, string and percussion instruments. Music class students put on an annual performance for the school.

STEAM Academy participates in E-sports competitions against students from all across Turtle Island.

Touch football

Flag football intramurals happen every fall and spring at STEAM Academy. Coached by Chris Martin, Andean Thomas and Brandon Hill, students are put into teams to compete against each other at lunchtime. The winning team of the student competition gets to face off against an all staff team at the end of the year. Students have gone undefeated so far against staff in touch football.

Archery

STEAM Academy high school participates in the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP). Staff are trained as basic archery instructors and STEAM students participate in in-house archery competitions and archery practices during lunch.
