This two-year Mohawk College diploma program is an Ontario College Diploma program offered at Six Nations Polytechnic’s Brantford Campus and Mohawk College’s Institute for Applied Health Sciences, located at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON. The Practical Nursing program runs continuously for 16 calendar months over four semesters and is offered every other year.
This program allows students to experience collaborative learning – the methodology where students are responsible for their own learning and for contributing to the learning of their peers. Faculty members provide structure and act as facilitators through consultation, assisting with group collaborative activities and providing feedback.
Clinical placements are an integral part of this program and may occur at locations that are not accessible by public transit. Students are expected to either have access to a car or the ability to supply their own transportation when attending clinical placement activities.
All accepted applicants are required to complete certain requirements prior to clinical placement and are responsible for the associated costs. Details about pre-placement requirements will be emailed to you once you accept your offer of admission.
Registered students who have been convicted of an offence under the criminal code for which they have not been pardoned may be denied the opportunity to enter or continue in a clinical placement while in the program.
