Science & Technology, Primary and Junior, Part I

Course Description

The Science and Technology Primary and Junior Part 1 course is designed to enhance professional practice and extend the knowledge and skills of course participants in the delivery of Primary and Junior science classes. This course explores the theoretical foundations of Science and Technology, examines the way students developmentally learn Science and Technology, and offers insight into program planning and implementation, assessment and evaluation with attention to the First Nations learner, the learning environment and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning in the Primary and Junior divisions.

Delivery & Class Dates

Classes are held at the Ohsweken Campus, 9am - 5pm on the following dates: 

  • Saturday June 3 - Sunday June 4
  • Saturday June 10 - Sunday June 11
  • Thursday July 6 - Friday July 7
  • Monday July 17 - Friday July 21

Admission Requirements: 

Certificate of Qualification and Registration with the Ontario College of Teachers

A qualification in one of the following: 

  • Primary division 
  • Junior division
  • Intermediate division in a general education subject from Schedule A, or
  • Senior division in a general education subject from Schedule A

*Applicants with a background in Technologocial Education are not eligible for this AQ course.
